green industrial precincts
Our team is working with the both the public and private sectors to transform Australia's future industrial precincts that will provide the platforms for commercialisation of our portfolio of technologies. Our work with industrial precincts across the country is creating a new way for technolgoies to interact in a circular economy framework.
Our strategy is to 'future proof' Australia's industrial precincts to produce the social and sustainable outcomes that are now demanded of our industrial ecosytems from customers, investors and regulators, while also maintaining international competitiveness.
This vision has the potential to reshape the industrial landscape in Australia by providing the platforms for commercialisation of our portfolio of technologies and create a new way to interact in a circular economy framework. Critical to this is the new cleantech manufacturing, energy and data platforms to accelerate our clean energy future.
What is a Green Industrial Precinct?
Advanced industrial precincts look to amalgamate the knowledge of tertiary learning institutions, the technical prowess of cutting-edge industry and the commercial acumen of business and thought leaders.
A Green Industrial Precinct can provide an enduring high-tech manufacturing base, developed in a manner consistent with the UN Sustainability Development Goals. The purpose is to attract and retain a highly-skilled workforce and secondary/tertiary production and recycling initiatives into a sophisticated industrial ecosystem. The key industries being focused on include dispatchable renewable energy (including energy storage), hydrogen, green chemicals, and recycling as import replacement and export opportunities, and will require ongoing training of the local workforce.
Key aspects of an Green Industrial Precinct include:
Embedded renewable energy networks to unlock value for tenants and provide a clean secure energy supply
Low-cost renewable energy, firmed using storage
A focus on bringing together tenants who can apply circular economy principles of resource and waste reuse
Opportunities for tenants to maximise their carbon and sustainability goals on the precinct
